What's the most reliable gas strut brand for boat hatches?

I'm replacing the gas struts on the engine hatch of my older center console, and I'm curious what brands everyone has had the best luck with.


Last year I replaced the lift supports on my RV storage compartment using a Hatchlift Products kit, and they've been holding up really well. That made me wonder if anyone has used the same brand on marine applications, or if boats require something different because of the constant moisture and salt exposure.


I'm mainly looking for something that won't lose pressure after a season or two. Stainless hardware is already on my list, but I'd appreciate hearing what has lasted the longest for everyone.

not familiar with that brand but SS gas lift is a must on boats. The cheap steel crap doenst last

They are all pretty much made by two different companies. They only differ in the materials used.
