This spring I'm going to clear the forest green stipes above and below my rub rail. It's about 16" wide and runs around the boat. The boat is a 87' 268 Sundancer.

I'm going to sand, tape, shoot it when the weather permits.

At this point I'm planning on using a two-part linear Poly clear gloss paint. I'm looking for practical recommendations on which product to use.

Anybody ever use "System Three" in clear? Its water based and claims to be as good as solvent based. That doesn't seem right to me but?

Before I go down to the autobody supply and start poking my head around I'm looking for a heads up from anyone with experience using these products.

The goal of the project to to keep the green from oxidizing when in contact with the sun, air, and salt water. I want it to stay green, I'm not trying to make it look like a 2006 Sunseeker etc..

Thanks

To answer your first question, I'm going with clear to just shine it, I'm not into the commitment of a full priming and color coat.
