The Cleveland Boat Show starts today at noon at the IX Center near the airport. Come down and see me. My company is displaying the Queen of the Show, a 2014 Prestige 450S Coupe and has a nice list of brokerage boats to look at. The show is 10% larger than last year, so things look to be on an upswing.

Hi Kenny,

My wife and I are planning on going to the show on Monday. We will stop by and introduce ourselves. A very close friend of my parents used to work for Sima, her name is Nancy Schuler.

Have a great show. Hope to see you on Monday.

We will be there Saturday. Debbi and me are working the GCBA booth from 10 to 2 and then we will tour the floor. See you then

I went onboard the Presitge Thursday afternoon. Very nice boat!

I was somewhat disappointed in the show. There were some nice boats there, especially at the Sima Marine booth, and a couple of good seminars, there really was not a whole lot there to capture my attention. I fall into the category of already having a boat, a place to dock for the upcoming season. I was hoping to be inspired by a few of the vendors for ideas on outfitting the boat and quite frankly there was not a whole lot at the show for this.

The above being said, the highlight of the show was finally meeting Kenny and talking with him. I hope he was not too bored talking to my wife and I. We did spend about 30 minutes or so talking with him. 8-)

What has happened to the boating supply/equipment vendors? Have they been priced out of the shows or discouraged from displaying?

In my neck of the woods, it's the former. A few years ago, the vendors were very verbal about it. They asked if you wanted to provide your name and e-mail to get on their mailing lists as the cost was becoming prohibitive to do the circuit and they had to be more choosy. The prices remained constant and they did have specials aroung show time.

One thing I did notice was that not to many wanted to take on anything that appeared to offer a challenge. Very disappointing.
