Mike,

I have a 2004 Monterey 302CR that was first titled in May 06. I purchased the boat a month ago and am currently preparing it for the winter. I'm using Collinite fiberglass cleaner (the liquid) followed by a heavy application of Collitine Fleet wax (paste). I too am experiencing the rain streaks which are not easily wiped off. I've read a lot about Zanio products and would appreciate your advice on a few things.

Based on the year and manufacturer do you think the Collinite is a good choice or would Zanio be better? And is there a cleaner that will take care of the rain streaks without taking the wax off?

Thanks

Jim

Today I retrieved the two table tops off my deck that have been enduring the weather since last October. I cleaned them with coral car wash (the blue stuff you can buy at WalMart) and the differences were amazing.

The Collonite only area cleaned very easily and the water ran right off it leaving small beads.

The area with 303, left a sheen of water and did not bead at all.

The Behold spray wax area drained the water faster than the 303 area but still did not have the water bead up. This area cleaned up the worst.

I let the sun dry them and they all looked the same.

The tables will go on the boat next week and we’ll continue the test.

Using Zaino is not as much work as you may think.
You need to first wash the boat anyway so now use liquid dawn.
If the finish needs compounding. It needs it whether you use zaino or not.
Zaino goes on easy and comes off easy too. I would hand apply.
