Looking to get a cordless buffer for those occasional clean ups on the stern. Not to wax the whole boat. Prefer cordless so it's not a hassle.
Thanks.

Think wife.

Early morning coffee and sugar laced donuts.

I picked up the Kawasaki 19.2v unit on ebay.
Figure I will try it.
With a colored hull I like to keep a good coat of wax on the stern where the color is exposed to the sun. That is where the fade happens I noticed on most other colored hulls.
Also for those occassional spot touch ups.
Figure I will keep it charged and ready, grab, wax, put away.
No cords to deal with!

Let us know how it works. I'll be surprised if you get much time out of a charge.

Agree with Bruce. I don't believe the weight v. longevity is there yet in batteries. I've seen some battlewagons with a Sunbrella "awning" over the stern. Would that be easier for during the week then a quick spray wax at the beginning of the w/e?

In general there is not enough power from a battery. Just pick up a real 7 inch buffer and you immediately know why before you ever plug it in. Can't store that much energy in a battery, it would be depleted almost immediately.

That said, what you are really doing is not polishing, but waxing. Fundamentally different and does not REQUIRE that much energy (though nice if you have it). So, you likely can find "something" cordless that will likely achieve what you want. Just don't expect to do any actually polishing with it. Wax application/removal will be about the limit.

I picked up a battery powered buffer a few years back. It was in Walmart, came with two batteries. Battery would last 30minutes at full power. Wasnt bad at all.

I cant remember for the life of me 1. where I put it last and 2. who made it.
