Anyone changing plans as result of the recent US government travel advisory?

Roy

It's basically for Nassau and Grand Bahama. BTW West End is all over the floor. If you expect to stop there be ready for a disappointment.

Not changing our plans because we do not frequent those areas, I prefer Abaco, it's outer islands and Exuma, but my yacht club did cancel a cruise to Lucaya last year due to lack of things to do and open businesses.

It s nothing new. We avoid NAS as much as possible. Marinas have good security and we do not venture out of the marina at night

We spend a lot of time in the Exumas, heading back on Tuesday for 5 weeks. No worry there whatsoever.

I have never understood the appeal of Lucaya.

It was merely a place to check in, and wait for high tide timing to go out the North end of the Canal.

I'm with Pascal, it's really nothing new. I can remember years ago being advised to be a bit careful in Nassau.

Why bother? Clear at West End or treasure or wherever youbre going

We wanted to do the canal once, and another time weather had us divert to Lucaya instead of West End. A line of serious spouts trained along the path from Lauderdale to West End so we elected to avoid it lol.
