Hello,

I have a 1988 32' Carver Montego. Under the windshield is an area I would call the "dash". This area is horizontal and flat. It is covered with a black vinyl material to stop reflections on the windshield. It is lightly textured and quite permanent. Over the years, it has cracked and does not look good any longer. Does anyone have any suggestions of that to recover this with? Paint? Sheet vinyl?

Thanks,

Jim

I have seen people either put the snap in carpet up there or just the same material that was used there. I have also once seen canvas used that looked pretty good!

I bought a piece of charcoal carpet at the big box store, made a pattern and cut it to shape and had the local car upholstery shop sew binding around the perimeter. Looks great and is cheaper than what you would pay for a chunk of vinyl nautelex and glue.
