Buff magic and vinyl decals

Just wondering if I need to take precautions around the vinyl stripes and letters for the name of the boat when using buff magic?

Should be able to buff right over the decals. This is my second year using Buff magic, and I just go right over the boot stripes, name on transom, etc. without problems.

Don't hover too long though, if you build up to much heat it will hurt the vinyl.
