I would not use them on the connection from the macerator to the thru hole. If you are looking to avoid having a Y valve, I'd give in and use the Y valve. It's not worth the aggravation of moving lines around when you want to shift discharge outlets etc.. Besides the CG may have issues with it on the outlet side if you cannot lock things down.
I only need to use them to replace the pump (onboard spare) and for clogs, Good point about the CG. Most connectors do have a hole for a safety wire.
I'm doing a new 2nd tank and hope to put the mac pump on top of the tank with the discharge directly down. No way to pump over board or threw hull. I am never 3 mi out and ply Canadian waters often.
