The teak on my boat was previously treated with Cetol Light. Last treatment was just a bit over two years ago before I took ownership. It's past time for maintenance.
There are spots where the previous coatings have worn completely off and the teak is just beginning to weather gray. I don't think the spots are enough to warrant a full stripping, though, but not really sure how well it will take another coat. The only places of concern are some spots on the toe-rail, hand rails, and swim platform.
I'm planning to very lightly sand all of it, and sand just a bit more aggressively in the gray spots, then recoat with 2 coats. Does that sound about right? Am I asking for trouble with the bare spots?
