In the cockpit of my 86 Wellcraft 260 aft as in most boats I have a black anti-glair vinyl covering of the instrument dash that extends to the bottom of the windshield. Over the years, this piece has shrunk from the sun and looks bad. I would like to replace it. Any Idea where I can get the vinyl and what is an adhesive would hold it down. Really appreciate anyones help with this.

When originally made they are vacuum formed/molded. Can't see how you can take any vinyl and make it conform to irregularities of dash.

I guess l am not explaining myself well..sorry. This is a flat (horizontal) area extending from the top of the instrument panel to the bottom of the windshield. On a car what we would call the dashboard. This is a completely flat area and fairly large. About 4 feet by 8 feet. Sun has shrunk the plastic along around the edges and it is looking bad.

Yes, had it on my old '78 Wellcraft Nova 210XL. I believe it's Naugahyde or a copy of it. Try a seat cover shop. Any RTV, rubber cement, or Goop should work, but plan on rolling it as it will show all imperfections in the glue.

I had the something similar on an older Formula F-233. I ended up pulling it, sanding the substrate, and spraying it with flat black paint. I ended up with the same results....No glare, and hot as hell. If I had it to do over, I would have sprayed it with a white paint or gelcoat and snapped a white towel on the dash.

My 2 cents.
