Had the boat shrinkwrapped about 3 weeks ago. Mechanic was inside boat today and said the inside of the shrinkwrap is dripping and the interior feels wet??!?!?! Do I need more than 2 moisture absorber cans? Boat is 24'

yes,
Plus vent the cover, make slits wtih a knife. Reason this is happening is our warm weather. TAKE CARE OF this ASAP, you do not want this condition.

Walter

yup, shrinkwrap without several vents is a recipe for what's happening now. Your boat is sealed so tightly that moisture can't get out. you can get stick on vents from Dr. Shrink.

Save your money, no vents needed, just make slits in various spots with a razor knife.

Walter

Down here Walt, those slits would turn into major rips when the wind starts blowing. We had sustained 40 mph winds on Sunday. I feel lucky my boat's still covered!

Thanks guys...gonna take care of it. Where should i cut the slits? I'm assuming along the sides and not the tops. Who is Dr Shrink?
As long as I have you guys... Do you know of any marine elctricians? I need to wire a few things...Thanks and Happy New Year!!!

if your gonna just cut slits, use shrinkwrap tape or at least duct tape first to reinforce it.
otherwise you'll wind up with bigger problems with the winds we have had this year.
you can cut it either way like this and it will hold up... i prefer the bottom as it moves more air

dont know what sized boat you have, but 2 inthe bow, 2 mid ship, and 2 aft should be plenty, one on each side

Greg,
we get some major winds here also, I have always done it this way and never had a problem, but I hear what you are saying.

I make my slit's horizontal and space them about 1/2" apart, good idea Mike has by backing them up with duct tape.

"Do you know of any marine elctricians? I need to wire a few things..."

Before you hire someone, ask the questions here, you may get the answers that will allow you to do it yourself.

Mike'second picture is what my shrink wrap guy does.

Thanks for the info guys!! Broke down and bought 4 "Dr Shrink" vents from West Marine. Put them on with ease...Hopefully this does the trick. Have a Happy New Year Gentlemen!!

The guy that does my shrink wrap makes the vents out of shrink wrap. He makes a circle cut and then tapes the shrink wrap in a triangle over it.

The circle cutout most likely was a hole from shrinking, he just covers his mistake with a vent.
