We want to try something different and have not been to Cornettas but hear good things about the place.
- First, is it possible to get in at low tide with the drive up in a 21' boat? Our plans will have us arriving an hour after dead low.
- Second, where is the transient dockage for the restaurant?

It is a good spot, and the indoor restaurant is jammed all the time for dinner. we used to eat under the tent all the time. they have a pretty extensive menu, great burgers and very friendly people. There aren't really transient slips, if you call on your cell ahead they will put you in a vacant slip. I'm not sure about the depth for the time you are going though. An hour was fine the beginning of the last season, but it turned into 2 before the end. parts of that area read less than a foot under the boat at low tide. there is a line that everyone would take from the water tower on the east side of the river to the breakwall. if the tide doesn't work this time, i'd try again, good food and good people.

I would suggest going at high tide. 1 hour after dead low is dead low.

Piermont can be tricky if you don't know where you're going in the bay, chance of actually getting stuck in the mud is a reality.

Great resturant ..... but take the car , worst place on the river for silt and low water in my opinion and your colling system will be sucking silt for about a mile or so from where it gets shallow just to get in there , also a bunch of mud bars all over the place around there. I like gunkholing the shallows but piermont is one place I stay the hell out of with the boat.

Hmmm, looks like we'll stay clear, thanks for the advice.

Can someone reccommend a different place on the river between GWB and Croton other than: Striped Bass, WIBC or Haverstraw? A burger and a beer is what we're looking for.

Thanks!

Try the restaurant at Viking, it used to be called "another point of view" I think it might now be "Sunset Grill".

Or, in that size boat, you can go to Cold Spring, plenty of restaurants there.

Or, go to SPBM and try the food there.

I went to Correntetas last year and the food and service was great. No charge for docking if your eating there. I don't remember it being to low at the time we were there and had no problems going in or out. I followed someone out because it was dark, but he seemed to now where he was going.
