Today is the last day of summer. Although we still have 5 - 6 weeks with the boat in the water, it's getting cooler and more fall-like. I dread the up-coming winter. Thank God for Aruba!

Once this summer started in mid-July, it was excellent - just over too soon.

Can't you just get an audience with the Pope and tell him to knock it off about the global warming? Tell him you want more of it to lengthen your boating season.

Thank heaven for Florida. It's closer than Aruba and you can trailer your boat there so you have it with you all winter.

In the last 10 days I have received:
Contract for next years slip, contract for winter land storage, West Marine flyer for winterization stuff, and a postcard suggesting that I winter in the water in Charleston SC. Now that is depressing.....It was a great boating summer with a lot of boating and rafting up with great friends.

I got that same postcard from Charleston! If they would pay my fuel bill, I'd winter there.

Given how fast it seems to have passed for you folks, I am thinking you had a GREAT Summer. Hey, it ain't all that bad. Wait. This is one of those El Nino Winters isn't it?

Good thing you had a blast!

With Diesel prices down your fuel bill should only be about $2500 to get there. What does winterizing cost?

About $2500 but then you have to drive it back in the Spring so it would be at least twice the price and that's without the cost of storing it there.
It would be nice if there was someplace closer to winter and still have use of the boat! Maybe the Chesapeake would be an option?

Problably as far north as is safe is Morehead City, NC which is about 525 miles outside. Go to Vigrinia Beach the first day and Morehead the second?

I can make it to Charleston in 3 days, day 1 to Ocean City, then going inside in NC, maybe making it to Morehead, then coming out of Morehead to Charleston.

Cost me about $4000 to get there.

This has been the best boating summer in years with incredible weekend weather.
My wife and I made a trip up to your neck of the woods last weekend via the East/Harlem River's up to Kingston, and then back down to Liberty Landing the next day.
The forecast still looks good for a while. I'm thinking we still have another good month to go of casual boating, and then until after Veteran's Day for fishing.

Sadly my schedule is filling up and there is not many boating days left I will be starting to prep for the end soon! I have this Saturday I busy Sunday the following week I'm out of town then it's October already this suck!!!!

You fold way too early.

Gotta hang in atleast until the end of October!

It's Corvette season which for me is a short season:) I won't drive it once it snows but we can take weekend trips until then!

Real boaters keep boating until November

It's Corvette, and GTO, season for me too.
Because of the incredibly good boating weather this summer, they've been out of the garage very few times this year.
Time to start to correct that.
