Got home from teaching at 4:00 today. The Admiral had picked up some roasted chicken and side dishes so we headed to the boat. We dropped anchor in a little cove just west of Glen Island, New Rochelle. Turned the engines off and the radio down. Some kids from a local private school were practicing crewing in their sculls, but otherwise it was quiet. We enjoyed a romantic dinner under the setting sun, with a slight southern breeze and temp of 74. Great way to end the day. Only sad part was when the Admiral reminded me that we have only a few more weeks till the season ends. We've used our boat more this season than we have in the previous five seasons combined. Great enjoyment. Happy boating, all. Hy

Sounds great! We also had a good boating year and not looking forward to putting the boat away.

Sounds like a perfect evening. My wife and I have enjoyed many dinners on the hook. We really missed having our boat this season. Hopefully we'll find a nice replacement before Spring.

Trying to maximize my boating time before the weather changes also, there have been some really nice evenings the past couple weeks. Last Wednesday I went over to Cedar after work and spent the night, got up real early Thursday and headed to the office. Went to Atlantique Saturday and just took a ride Sunday. I ended up working from home today and had no plans for getting out on the boat but it was really nice out around 6pm so couldn't resist :) Took an almost 2 hour evening cruise.

Not what you're thinking Andy, actually I went over to Cedar Beach to pump out my holding tank. lol An excuse for a sunset cruise though :)

Thanks. Planned on boating this weekend, but that's not going to happen. Gale force winds and high waves are no fun. Understand there's a boat show at Tobay Beach beginning today. Sorry to hear that. I don't think many people will venture out there this weekend with all the rain and wind that's predicted. I've gone to a few boat shows there over the last few years and really enjoyed them. Today's a day for shopping and cleaning; holy days Monday and Tuesday and company's coming to the apartment, a dozen people for lunch. Can't escape to the boat!!! Have a good weekend anyway, in spite of the weather. Hy

This weather is a bummer for sure. I'm hoping to take my kids boat out of the water Sunday. He's off from school Monday and Tuesday and that will be a good time for him to do some washing and waxing before we winterize it and put it away.
