Evinrude 115 SPL Runs Fine Then Bogs Down And Dies

I have a 1998 Evinrude 115 SPL that will idle all day long and run at idle speed but will only plane out for about 10-20 seconds then fall on its face. After pumping the ball on fuel line it will jump right back up on plane only to repeat the issue over and over. The ball feels a bit strange like its not springing "back into shape" very quickly. It does not leak and does not seem or feel old or dried out. Just looking for ideas at this point, motor has been running great until now.

That happened to me with my old Bayliner. The culprit was the vent screw on the cap of the gas tank. (I was a maroon and simply had forgotten to open it.) If that's not it, it might be time to replace the fuel line. Pretty simple fix and not too expensive.

If your tank isn't portable with a screw vent on the cap, just take the cap off to see what happens. If the engine runs good, then you have a clogged vent line.

Yes, that's the easiest 1st step.
Next would be replace the remote filter.

Could be a restriction anywhere upstream toward the tank from the primer bulb. I.e., semi-clogged remote filter/separator, delaminated fuel hose, balky anti-siphon valve if any, restricted tank pickup,semi-clogged tank vent hull outlet screen...

The second thing I would do is change the bulb out. They usually are only good for about 3-4 years and could cause exactly the symptoms you speak of. Cheap fix too. Also, check the check valve on the tank where the fuel comes out. These tend to go bad also.
