Hi,
does anybody know a repair shop for 12V/24V boat refrigerators?
Mine is working a bit poorly again, after he got a "shot" of cooling 3 years ago.

So maybe that's all it needs, but the first estimte I got was higher than a new one!

If it uses the old kind of freon, you'd better off replacing it with a new one.

How old is your frig? What make/model?

Liz, I know we don't correct spelling/typing, but I won't spew coffee on my monitor if you fix the spelling of "frig" to "fridge". <G>

Its not that old, maybe 10 years, uses a Danfoss compressor 24V, definitely not the old freon thing. Don't know the type right now, but this wouldn't help either because I got it in Germany before I immigrated.
 
Check with Delta Refrigeration in Rio Vista, I know he does boat stuff and I bought my Vitrifrigo from him
 
If you know what the refrigerant is (sticker on the unit someplace?) and if it has a fitting (it would have one if the refrigerant was recharged in the past) you might be able to just get a canister of the stuff and put it in yourself. The R134a stuff is easily obtained at any auto parts store.

thanks for the great tip, cause the boat is docked at outrigger harbour, just around the corner of Rio Vista.

tried that but no success, everything fits together but I cannot get the stuff in the fridge. The meter at the filling tank shows high pressure, maybe that's because I have 2 filling valves, and the other one is dead. The guy refilling it said it didn't perforate the line so he did the second one. Going to Rio Vista first before I destroy everything....
