I have about a 12' x 11' area on my aft deck that I removed the headliner to rewire and add lighting, insulate and repair. The ceiling is clean and ready to go. I want to use a vinyl material headliner and think the job is too big for me to do properly. When I google headliner, upholstery comes up. Does anyone know an installer that is local?

Thanks,

Billy K.

I used Darryl Unique Upholstery 631-433-7912 or 631-627-1433

He redid the bolsters on my cockpit.
Quality work, good prices.
Highly recommend.
I got him from Tony at AMC.
He used to work for Interiors by Don Frost, which I am told was the best there was, but Don closed shop.

He is located in Shirley.

I know he is usually really busy this time of year, better to do in off season, prices are lower too!

Does AMC do cushions at all or just canvas?

BTW, I used to use Don Frost, he was very good.

AMC does not do upholstery.
When I asked Tony, he said he would send it all out to Don Frost.
But then he told me about Darryl and said used to work for Don and is as good as Don.
So I used him.
If it is canvas or canvas seat covers, its AMC, if it's vinyl then it's Darryl.

Just to give a idea of pricing.
He redid my combing pads.
My cockpit is like 13' x 5'
I have 3 combing pads on the 3 sides, transom one is shorter due to door.
Pad on transom is thick, like 6 inches and sides ones are thin, maybe 2"
Cost to redo vinyl on all 3 with a heavy duty vinyl was $600.
He did re-use the original materials and I took them off the boat.

I replaced the headliner on my '86, 34C because a leak of steering fluid on bridge got to it. I used perforated fabric backed vinyl. I thought it was rather easy to do. I am above average mechanically tho, if ur slight bit handy; it shouldn't be too difficult. Just my 2 cents !
