Hey Butch!

Where can you get charts to navigate Bowline?

(I know I am new but I am learning from the best here)

There is no "chart" that shows the way in, it's a "local knowledge" thing. When you want to come in, let us know and someone can lead you in. Basically, you hug the south shore and head right for the church steeple. Don't cut over to the north too soon, or you'll end up on the rock wall.

+1 with the caveat that this may have changed since SSS. This area really got beat up good so we really need to do some good research at dead low to confirm what got moved around.

And once everyone is done dredging, the knowledge will need to become a lot more local. I read where the approach wil be 14" at MLW.

Thank you - I have only been in there by dinghy from Haverstraw or Minecionga over the last few seasons. There was really no way to see any obstuctions when I came and went.

At low tide it can be seen! However this year who knows

Those directions sound familiar.:-)

Harlan, we got you in and out with no problems at all!

Its always a tough choice on best entertainment for the 4th of July. The fireworks or watching the boats go up on the rock wall. I was in my dinghy last year and stopped one guy right before he hit. By the time I got out of his way, someone else was up on the wall. Its such a sucker trap. You see all these big boats inside and your in deep water going right down the center then "THUMP". The worst part is you have 50 boats watching you do this.

Yes you did! I can vouch it is very deceiving finding your way in.

I will have the the schedule up shortly. Don't want anyone to miss them. I hear they are going to be better than ever. Speaking of better than ever, have you been by the marina. I stopped there the other day and it looks great. They are repairing the docks and will have them ready for spring thaw. The store and office is just about finished and it has a new look about it. They should be moving back into it in about a week. The groundhog predicted an early spring and they will be ready for it. I am glad about that since I plan on being out there for the striper run this year. I hear I may have a lot of free time on my hands.

So with all this news we should be able to blow that SPBM thread away and make a new record here! Stick around and I will have the fireworks schedule up soon.

Be happy to help. Btw, I have found that as long as your not bringing a ton back, they don't bother you. I brought a whole box back with me from Africa and didn't think twice about it. The other option is to just take the wrappers off. As you can tell, I'm doing my best to get some of them back here where I can assist in disposing of them. :)

Excellent idea Mike. Get them out of the before boating season starts. ;)
