The street lights are now powered on after dark, but access is closed.

I've heard that they are being forced by the county to seed the land and prevent dust storms from the winds.

Sanmound slough is in the lower left corner at the levee breach.
 
Seeding won't do much good now unless they water it. Anybody got a fireboat around Bethel Island to hose down the seedlings?

Is there a timetable to bankruptcy on this project? I'd love to pick up several lots cheap at a fire sale....

I neglected to point out what a nice picture that is, and thank you for posting it, flutter.

It does sort of "highlight" the Dutch Slough -- Big Break route from Bethel Island to the Antioch bridge. Does that route get much traffic? Based on the (old) soundings on the charts I have, it looks real iffy.

I don't have any other updates on the property. Maybe I'll hear something this weekend. I have a couple of "good" sources ;>)

Big Break isn't nearly as bad as it used to be, but it is safest to stay in Dutch Slu all the way to the SJ Channel---no shortcuts! Dutch is usually around 20 ft deep and goes to the right of Big Break. Don't turn south until you know you are in the marked channel and you'll do fine.
 
It's a shame the way the whole thing turned out. The fancy townhouse complex in Isleton seems to have met the same fate.
