Interior Teak Veneer

My interior is a combination of teak and teak veneer. The previous owner used a heavy dose of Murphy's Oil Soap on it and it is quite dark. Any good suggestions to lighten it up so I can then varnish? I spoke with the Snappy Teak cleaner folks and they said to dilute their product with water, which seems to work but is leaving some pretty good streaks. Plus I'm not so sure I want to use that on the pieces I can remove. Thanks

If the previous owner used murpheys oil soap on it you might have a problem with varnish. My wife used murphys on our oak floors one time in our house, floor guy comes in to screen and re poly the floors. Guys says he has to strip and sand floors completely, no way around it,, oil soap leave oil residue.

Be careful with the oil soap.
