I have the use of a 34 foot mainship for a week and I want to cruise around Long Island and fish a little. I was thinking of going through the shinnecock canal to the Peconic bay over to montauk to orient and than west on the sound to NYC. Can anyone offer advice on this trip should I stay inside to shinnecock or use the ocean. How is the trip inside. How is the shinnecock inlet.I have all the charts , GPS, Radar, I am not interested in speed just a nice easy ride and maybe a little fishing. Any input welcome from someone who has done this. Thanks
