Lindenhurst carb parts on Saturday

Any one know of a marine supply within 10 miles of lindenhurst that stocks carb rebuild kits for a Mercrusier 5.7 (85) with a 4bbl Quardajet.

Took it it apart tonight, need a kit to put it back together

when in doubt i head to freeport.its a bit of a ride, but they do have a bunch of places within a mile radius.i try either freeport marine supply or fred chall.guys at freeport marine supply are older and have alot of knowledge. if they dont have it, they will tell you where to get it. better than a pimply faced kid at west marine.
 
I forget the name of the place, but there is a marine mechanic parts store on montauk highway, north side, in Lindenhurst, east of the Hess station, and immediately west of the Kentucky fried chicken place. I was there last week with my buddy getting fan belts and other engine parts for his older Volvo Penta engine, and they seemed to have everything. They're open weekends, and if you're not familiar with Lindenhurst, the Hess station I'm talking about is 2 traffic lights east of Wellwood Ave.

Thanks to all

Funinthesun, I got the kit at the place you recomemended (AllStock) they did not have it in stock but got it for me in an hour. $32.00 with a new filter, I cleaned up all the parts and will reassemble it tonight.

I have not seen a store like that in years, they have paper catalogs to look parts up for older engines that the computer look up systems are useless for. The counter men are helpfull and know their stuff. The wait at the counter was a little long as they where giving advice to a guy who was having fuel system problems so I did not mind.

I think I have found my new favorite Auto/Marine store, highly recomended that anyone with older boats (as well as new) give them a try.

Kevin - I'm glad it worked out for you. Any of my mechanical stuff I buy there - for exactly the reason you mention - sharp guys who know their business and are willing to pass along a little of that knowledge.

I have been going to Allstock since my first car in 1985 (a 1966 Caprice). They're alwyas great, if they don't have it, they'll point you to someone who does do you don't have to wait.
