Well, our journey via boat from Marblehead Ohio to Milwaukee has been going well so far. On Friday morning, I awoke at 2am, hopped into my overloaded rental and headed to Cleveland airport to pick up my better half. We arrived at the marina a little after noon, and the sea trial went well. The privies owner and broker did a great job preparing the boat for me. In fact they even filed the water tank to ensure I got the feel of the vessel fully loaded. All systems checked out, except one fuel sending unit was off a little on its readings. So we got the deal cooked and started to load the boat with all our stuff. The rental car place was about a half hour away, our intent was to take the car back, and taxi back. The broker was nice enough to even offer to drop my wife off on the way to grocery shop (didn't get the van I wanted ended up with a small SUV, so the list got a little shortened) We got back and organized all the stuff we brought on board, and went to top off the tanks. Eventful it was, Going from an i/o to twin tunnels was quite the change. But I took my time and made a couple (ok a few) approaches. Then we were off to Cedar Point. The privies owner had the way points already in the Garmin, so it made the trip very easy, Arrived about 8pm, and went out to eat, had a bottle of champaign and called it an evening.
The next day for breakfast we met some forum friends for breakfast (Dogdaze - Joe and Sheryl from the Cruisers forums) and then they gave us a tour of the amusement park. My wife just loves rides, so we planed on this being her day, and spent it at the park. It was great having the marina right there as we were able to go back to the boat take a nap and get something to eat, and go back to the park. We stayed till they closed, and then were once again to tired to do anything more, and called it a night again,
Sunday morning, I slept the latest I have in a long time, I didn't wake up until 9am, so we scrabbled to get the boat prepared for 10am departure (no late check outs allowed at the marina) We got checked out right on time, then went back to the boat to start the engines and shove off. Joe and Sheryl stopped by to say good buy and we headed off to Sinbad's on the Detroit river to meet some of my wives friends for lunch. We spent allot mor time with them then planed , so we altered our plans for our final destination of the eventing, Made sure to send our revised plans to our family. and crossed Lake St Clair yet for the day. Spend the night on the hook. Just as we layer down the wind picked up and we had 2-3foot waves, so we made sure to set the anchor alarm on the Garmin s well as both phones. Oddly enough the winds died down about midnight and the lake flattened back out. However about 3 am, I did get my anchor alarms going. I made sure we reset and went back to bed. Just awoke to make some coffee and watch the sunrise. We have the GoPro running for the trip, so when we get some time to go thru the video/pics I will upload some.
The weather has been outstanding so far, we should be good till 4 today, then we will see some thunder storms.

Tim are you going to homeport out of Milwaukee or still Racine (if memory serves me that is where you used to be)?

Tim,

Sounds like a great start to your trip back to WI. This weekend we had perfect weather on Lake Erie. Waves weer 2' or less, lots of sun and perfect temps. The fishing was even good, on Sunday, we saw over 300 fishing boats out between Kelly's Island and South Bass Island. From the reports many were limiting out.

Max:
We never made the move to Racine, we dicided to stay at McKinley, since we loved being next to Summerfest grounds. We will be moving from P48 dock to L2 when we return.

Eric:
Yes, we were amazed at the amount of fish in boats out on Sunday. You have one beautiful area by you.
