Our boat is a 1983 Ocean Alexander (43'). My remaiing "to do" list is not daunting, but I could use some suggestions, comments, recommendations from some of you seasoned "do it yourselfers".

Here is my list:

1. At the bow waterline, I have a yellowish hue showing approx 18" up the bow and then continues back on both the port & starbord side.
Best way to remove?
I have removed this stain twice, but it keeps returning. Last year I had the boat cleaned and waxed, but again the stain is back.

2. We have a complete teak deck walk around, with a 14' x 11' teak aft deck (all gray). The surface is really not in bad shape but there are numerous stains on/in the surface. The swim platform is also raw teak.
What should be my expectations on bringing back the life of the deck?
Which products do you recommend?

3. Assuming I am able to bring my teak deck back to a uniform grayness, is salt water truly the best wash for maintining the deck surface?

4. I have read a number of posts on wet sanding and am curious about your results as well as the process you have used. My gel coat is "white" but I have had the boat detailed twice in the last three years with minimal long term satisfying results.
I am considering painting the boat, but figured I would ck out other options first.
What grit sand paper (200 - 400 - 600)?
Wet sand aggressively (focused sanding small one foot sections) or moderately (light scuffing a broader 2' surface area)?
I assume I should only wet sand the size surface I can apply wax to in the same day?

5. We have a "Norcold" refrigerator/freezer and there is a "heat switch" inside the refrigeratior on the left side. We have found nothing in the manual informing us of its use. We assume it is for defrosting, but have yet to see results faster than using a hair dryer. Any ideas? If it is a defrosting mechanism, how long should we expect it to take to defrost the unit?
