So Mike did the kid have to row the dink because the tank on the dink is not large enough to meet the minimum on the fuel dock at Champlains (see the sign)?

Ouch! Good point, Dan! They won't even waste their time pumping your gas if you come in with a small boat there. Of course they probably also have a sign that says, "no self fueling for any reason" - so time to break out the oars...

Reminds me of the time I pulled into Imperial Yacht Club in my grandpa's old boat, which at the time needed about 1.5 gallons of gas to fill that tank and would run all day on it. The guy looked at me like I was a complete idiot. Wright Island Marina down the ways filled me up for the whopping total of $1.98 - about $4.50 in today's dollars!!!
