Muffler Replacement

I have a 1985 crusader 5 liter v drive with a failed galvanized muffler. Any ideas where to go for a replacement?

first place I would look is on the muffler itself for a makers ID

Centek is at least one of the most popular manufacturers of marine mufflers of various types. If you choose a Vernatone straight muffler I suggest the quieter (2 stage) Vernatone MK II. I certainly would not try to find another galvanized muffler.

A galvanized muffler? Most mufflers are made of rubber or fiberglass...I never heard of a galvanized muffler in a marine application. Give us some more specifics...boat manufacturer, year of boat...engines...etc.

Doesn't answer your question but my 87 Mainship, built by the same company as Silverton has a galvanized box that the exhaust runs into before exiting the the side of the boat. Try searching all the Luhr built boats they may hae used the same on all of them
