Name this part

I need the name,(and where to find it), of the plastic guard that is used on cut outs in fiberglass. It is about 1/2 inch wide, usually available in black, white and other colors, and is used around livewells, etc. It basically just covers up the rough cuts and gives it a nice finished look. It also prevents cuts to hands and tears to plastic, cloth, etc. that might get snagged. It is similar to door edge guards that are on cars, except it is much wider, and is a cut to fit item.

Sounds like a piece of polyethylene or polypropylene channel ( sometimes an angle ) that is used as an edge protector. Try a plastics supply house ( Piedmont Plastic and GE Polymershapes come to mind ). Give them a call/visit, describe the piece ( photos are a good idea ) and they can likely sell you some or point you to a source.

If you need this immediately, go to a big box building supply and get some "split loom tubing" in black. It is corrugated and you would not likely use it permanently, but it is cheap, available and would protect against cuts.
