Please help the NCPD identify the person who fled the scene of a boating accident in Reynolds Channel on Sunday, August 7th which left a 50-year old woman with multiple serious trauma injuries.

At 7:15pm on Sunday, the blue “Cigarette" style boat with a white hull was traveling at a high rate of speed through a posted 5 mph zone of Reynolds Channel when it struck the rear of an 18-foot vessel carrying members of a family. The boat traveled up to the center console of the larger boat before the operator backed off and fled the scene, heading towards Oceanside. The injured victim, who was struck by the boat's hull, was admitted to an area hospital.

The operator of the boat is described as a white male, 50-60 years old, with bald or thinning hair, a goatee, and tanned skin.

If you have any information regarding this incident, please call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous

Terrible! I hope they catch him, lock him up, and throw away the key.
They really need more enforcement around here. Especially on weekends when there are more boats out, and the alcohol flows freer.

Careful what you ask for, you just might get it.

Charged is not convicted. Let's see how this plays out. It is NYS after all.

Apparently he turned himself in.....guess he knew it was only a matter of time before they found him.

I remember they changed the law after my friend was killed by an intoxicated boater who had a bunch of people on board just east of the double span several years ago. No one called. Up until then you had 24 hours to report an accident. That's no longer the case.
