The last big project involves replacing the clouded,cracked, and fugly 4 part windshield. However, the two local shops thats do these quoted me $6000 to do the work - yeeouch!If I have to spend that kind of cash I might as well improve the design.
So I am looking into removing it myself and bringing it to a shop who can modify the stainless steel frame so that:
1) I can do the plexi myself
2) I can have the first mate walk through the windshield to go forward (sides are 6-inches for walking around)
3) Build in some window panels that can be opened for more ventilation.
Can you guys post pictures of your windshields that have these features so I can start working on a design?
