I recently purchased a JRC 1800CP Radar and Chart Plotter (I think I got a good deal at $1380 new from Bass Pro Shops - it's a discontinued model). Now I need a good, reputable person to install it for me. Does anyone know of someone I can call to do it while the boat is in heated storage this winter? How much should I expect to pay to have the old GPS antenna (it's from a mono Garmin 182 unit) removed and have the new radar dome, GPS antenna and display installed? The boat is located at a marina in Algonac Michigan, on the northern part of Lake Saint Clair.
I believe I'll also need the radar dome mounted 6" higher on the arch due to my bimini top and I read someplace on this site that you should be careful when mounting both a GPS and radar antenna near each other. So if anyone can recommend a good and cheap radar mount, I'd appreciate that also.
