Finally bit the bullet and bought my own boat. Found out that the GPS didn't have the Micro G chip. Another member gave some great advice. Thanks again. I slip out of Merrick at the Blue Water Yacht club. Cut my teeth for the first time on Sunday, Memorial day weekend...That was intimidating. So I get back to marina and start backing into the slip. Mind you, it was a great day, the wife and kids and two of his friends. I'm paranoid of course cause it's my first time. I try to get just close enough so someone can grab a line with the gaff. Done, shut the engine and my sons friend says "I thought you were in 24?. I say "I am"... He say's, "well, your in 22"...Oh brother, here we go again...Finally, after a couple of tries I did it.I've been in our waters for a while in my buddies boat. It's a lot different when it's yours. So if you see some rookie in a 24'Pursuit practicing his docking, come over and HELP!....I mean say hello...
