What a miserable day! I spent about 5 hours driving in the rain today, not much fun.
 
We had 2 days of it in the SW Pa area, got tired of it and sent it your way Dave.
Got the Yamaha outboard running like a champ. It was a lot of work though.

The Rip Van Winkle correct? Geeze it looks like alot of ice breaking up. I was wondering what this early thaw would do on the Rondout and it looks as though it wasn't too bad.

Correct. And green 121 in the foreground. Catskill Creek had been frozen solid and is now thawed. There's a small sailboat on a mooring up by Catskill Point that seems to be doing just fine. Perhaps they went for a sail in the 65 degree weather yesterday.

You are probably right, still an ugly scene! :-) this week in the 30's again.
 
Catskill Creek once again frozen. At least this guy can leave his dinghy ashore and walk (carefully) to his boat.

Is that an abandoned boat? How will it survive the Winter? Won't the ice crush the hull?
 
Dave that depends if it winds up above the ice.
 
He should be punished for leaving his boat like that from a moral stand point and from the legal stand point he should be arrested or fined and if it sinks he should pay the expense of floating and towing the boat.
