Painting an outboard motor cover

I have had very good luck in dealing with some of the places dealing in old outboard parts .. mostly they are guys like us who are interested in keeping these old motors running!!

Do you have any sites that you would recommend? I would buy an old motor any day over a new one. The new ones have too many bells and whistles..

Thanks all!

Now comes the fun part of painting the motor and cowling. Ill post some pictures later tonight of the motor before the prep work begins. This painting this is kinda fun

Heres the motor before prep work...

I'll bet you can chine walk that 182.

Very nice job.

You want to take on my bilge? :~P

I had in the water Wednesday for a sea trial, and the boat JUMPED out of the water at 1300rpms. This boat is pretty neat. I dont know if it was due to the motors power or due to Glastrons aqua lift hull..

When she was on plane there was only about 1 foot of the boat in the water (1 foot from the stern). And that wasnt even trimmed up..Funny thing is, this boat is rated for a 150, and its only a 120hp..

Since it JUMPED right up with that great looking outboard, you could call it "Magic Johnson." :D
