I just got word that our cruising members made out OK at Haverstraw.
I got this emil and then he posted pictures on his blog.

Hi Everyone,

The worst is over, boat still floating, and we are okay. Wow most marinas around here are gone, literally gone. There is a lot of docks here came off their pilings but held together minus a few fingers. Boats on shore fell off their stands and floated away, gas docks and cabana gone. The ramp to shore is like ours that goes down about the same angle was going up at same angle last night and a 2 foot jump to get on it. Picture shows a cruiser just upwind of me that is just hanging on, notice docks. My dock is the only one with cross brazing and a 11 foot pilon which at the peak had only inches to spare. We are so lucky to be here as they stopped taking transients last week.

Check out the blog as we will post more pictures.. Off to sleep as we got very little last night. I thought 50 knots is not that bad, what a difference when you get to 70knots The wind shrieks through the rigging. My wind instrument went to 000 on some gusts that were over 65 knots.

Gary, having just done a Hudson river cruise in perfect weather this summer and also stopping over in Haverstraw on our way home, reading your friends blog posts and seeing the pics is sureal. I can imagine the anxiety and fear they must have had trying to find a place to weather the storm and then riding this thing out. They must really be exhausted and I'm really happy to hear they made it through ok.

Janice and Al stopped by my boat to say hi. At first I was confused by when they said I knew Gary Peck. they should have said The Other Gary and I would have picked up on it a lot quicker. They were very nice and I wish them well on their journey. Unfortunately with all that was going on,I could not spend too much time with them but tell than thanks again for stopping over and safe journeys.
