all deck furniture made out of 1/2" plywood and it's very heavy. what light material would you recommend to replace all this heavy plywood?

are you talking about seats and lounges covered with vinyl ? Starboard XL (30% lighter than starboard) is the way to go. should be lighter and will not rot or absorb water

Few things are cheaper, lighter and stronger than plywood and easier to work with.

You right, Charlie. Will stay with plywood, going to make it lighter with pattern of 3" diam holes and paint it for waterproofing.

I agree with pascal. Starboard or some plastic is the way to go. Plastic never rots or absorbs water. If you use plywood, its not if it will rot its when it will rot. There are other alternatives such as composite foam core panels that are extremely light and extremely strong. It really depends on what you need the panels to do and how much you want to spend.

Of the "non-wood" options, what is best for floor material? And where to find it?
