As the first full season with the new boat winds down, I am wondering if others have the same problem as I. Despite generous waxing with Collinite Fleetwax, I get very noticable dirty staining where the rainwater runs off and where whater stands after the rain (on the deck where water falls off the roof). Has anyone found a way to lick this problem?
Perhaps even more worrisome, I find that Fleetwax actually facilitates this process. For example, on my roof I have non-skid with a 6" perimeter of gelcoat. The gelcoat gets waxed with Collinite, the non-skid woody wax. After a couple of weeks, particularly if I haven't washed the boat (being away), the 6 inch perimeter is stained from the rain and the non skid is fine! What gives?
