Does anyone know of a concoction that will remove buffing compound of wax from canvas. I have been pulling my hair our over this since last season. I have it in my basement for winter, and the few things I have tried to scrub it with does not work. After the canvas dries, the stain it is still there. This is a dark navy canvas top and it makes it look like crap. :(

Thanks,
Shel

I have used a combination of a power washer and a Mr. Clean Magic eraser with good luck on my Captains Navy Canvas.

I have heard of somebody using the citrus hand cleaner with pumice before too but I wanted to try the least evasive way first and it worked for me first try.

really tough to get that stuff out. Try a dry, clean, medium stiff bristle brush. Time and sun help somewhat, too.

Check the Sunbrella website. They have lots of info and may cover that issue. Good luck!

How about detergent and then repeated saturation & vacuuming with a wet, shop vac ?

Hot water is not recommended and definitely do not throw it in the dryer.

You might want to try spray nine or ZEP industrial purple, with a tooth brush. Both of those products will remove wax. I would try them in an inconspicuous area just in case. Another alternative would be to use a product called PROCYON spot & stain remover. This is by far the best product I've ever used for removing stains from carpets and fabrics.
