Scuff Marks - Help!

Just took off the plastic - apparently some of it was loose and it made scuff marks on the very higly shinned dark blue gelcoat!

Need advice as to what to do!

I tried "Finesse It" as well as some silicone polish by hand last weekend - didn't help! I am very reluctant to take any compound to the boat.

Advice please!
 
If you used Finesse it, you used compound. Are these scuff marks or scratches?
 
They are scuff marks - not scratches - Mr. Clean eraser? Really?
 
If you have "very higly shinned dark blue gelcoat!" I would be really hesitant about using a Mr Clean eraser.

I would use compound long before I would use a Magic Eraser. "Scuff" marks are a deposit of a foreign substrate on top of your gel coat - like a rubber streak from a sneaker sole. In order I would try finish wax of choice, then spray cleaner like Roll-Off or Serious Marine Cleaner, then Finesse It II, then compound. For anything more aggressive then the wax of choice follow with the wax of choice. If you get to the compound follow with Finesse It II then wax. Don't be afraid to use pressure or a power buffer for the Finesse It or compound. If compounding doesn't remove it, you don't have scuff marks.
 
I always thought those marks were called "experience stripes"

Buff Magic with a wool bonnet and rotary buffer.
 
Buff Magic is sold at the 2 big box boating stores, you can also find on various boating supply websites.

DO the entire hull and it will look like new.

I wish Boatfix would start selling it!!!
