Side planers and elastic bands

I'm moving in that direction this year. One rod + side-planer, 2nd rod with lure, line attached to the planer with an elastic band.

I'm also going to do it with my umbrella rigs for the large chase bait on the rig. What size elastics do any of you guys use?

I'm sick of cranking in fish+lure+line+planer or + umbrella rig.

Bill, are you speaking of Planer Boards?

I troll for stripers with these boards in the river and bay. I use Scotty release clips to attach my lines to the board lines...

Yep Jamie! Jeez.... why the hell didn't I think of that.
I have a down rigger and ton's of clips... Maybe I was thinking about how it was done back in 1920?????

Bill this is what I use but with a Carabiner(sp), (which you would see for .99 at the check out counter of most home centers) and a split ring on the clip instead of the shower curtain ring.
