Weather is kind of crappy for the weekend, but if it clears up Sunday afternoon I was thinking of taking a boat ride over to Tobay with my son in his 18' bowrider. We're hoping to take it out of the water that day, and stopping at the Tobay show might be a nice last ride.
Does anyone know if I can dock the little boat over there somewhere?
It's not much bigger than a lot of dinks
I've never gone by boat before, but have seen lots of other do so with bigger boats which they anchored, and then made their way over to the dock. I just never paid attention to how they got to the docks, or what they did with their dinks.

I believe you can anchor and they ferry you in. That's what I saw happening last year when I used the pumpout.

I don't believe you can dock.

Since you are a Nassau resident you might be able to dock. When I go they usually have a water taxi running around so I drop the hook and flag him down.

SeaTow is usually the one providing the rides to the dock if you anchor. I hope the weather changes for the vendors there. I would have gone by boat this weekend but have a windless problem. May drive there Sunday.

Thanks folks! I'm actually a Town of Oyster Bay resident, but we don't have a sticker on the little boat so the water taxi will be the way to go. I'm hoping the weather clears up for Sunday afternoon. It would be nice to spend a couple of hours at the show.

The show is in a holding pattern right now. We took 2 of 5 boats over yesterday. Today, the tide was up over the bulkhead and the wind was honking when I went down to check lines. Hopefully it eases up.

I hope it does clear up by Sunday; I'd love to go boating at least one more time before we haul. If the weather forecast is even a little iffy, I wouldn't recommend trying to go there in an 18' open boat. The water could be too rough for it, especially coming home. Be safe rather than sorry. I may drive there by car Sunday afternoon, weather permitting. Hy

It's a fair weather/summertime boat for sure.
It's a great little boat for my teenage kids to run around the Bay in with their friends. It's fast enough for what they need, super easy to handle, can run outside most of the channels, and burns relatively little gas, but once the weather turns crappy, or the water gets choppy, it stops being fun real quick.

Just checked the website. It's closed today, as it was yesterday, but so far it says it's open tomorrow.
That kind of stinks for the vendors. Moving everything over there and setting up for just one day probably isn't worth it to them.

Their website says open Sunday but your idea is a better choice, postpone it and hope for better weather next weekend.

It will be open tomorrow and next weekend. We are runnung 3 more boats over in the morning.

We have a Sea Ray, two Rinkers, an Albemarle and a Bertram on the center dock. Stop by and say hello.

Weather looking iffy for the weekend, but still plan on going.

Anybody else going to pop by?

Anyone Go?
Yesterday was probably okay at best, small showers in Lindenhurst, today obviously a bust. Really stinks for the vendors!
