If I read the directions on the products I am using, they all tell me to wash and dry the surface before applying. Do I really need to wash the boat after I compound it before I put the wax on?

Thanks for the help!

Get the grit off of it.

Besides, the direction already told you to. What exactly are you asking people here, to agree with you that the mfg knows less about the product than you do?

Sometimes I see a haze develope the next day, and I find myself wondering if it is because I didn't wash it before I put the next product on.

I always run a clean dry pad over the surface before I switch products, but I rarely spend the time to wash it. Mainly because I don't want to waste a good day waiting for it to dry.

But I always wonder if I would have better results if I washed the boat between steps.

I am asking what people think because I'm not sure I am doing the right thing.

Thanks

For best results, wash between steps. It gets the product residue off of the surface.
