What Epoxy to use

Yep. MarineTex is what I would use for that as well.
I wanted to use marine tex but I read on there web site that the temp has to stay at least 65 degrees for 48 hours for it to cure correctly. Any one have any tricks for that one. Weather forecast for the week has lows in the 40s and 50s.

Obviously you're not in Freeport, Bahamas! You'll be fine, as the sun will warm it higher than the ambient temp. Might need to let it cure longer.
If you need something faster, how 'bout JB Weld, or JB Quik, which will cure in 4-5 minutes. Still prefer MarineTex, though.

Use what you got. Pretty much any epoxy can be thickened with coloidal silica or wood flour or even talcum power. Just try to hollow out the backside to give the epoxy something to grip to. I've used an alan key in a drill for that on numerous occasions. The only other thing I've used is the International Paints epoxy putty. Good stuff but pricey.
