Wood Used In Bayliners

A Bayliner dealer recently told me that the wood used in some (or all?) of their boats changed in, I believe he said, 2003 to a new composition. He also said that the whole boating industry (that uses wood in construction) has switched to it, that it has become the industry standard. Can anyone confirm this and what is it called.
