Hi all,
Wife and I just bought a fixer-upper 1987 Mariner. The Hynautic reservoir was taken from the vessel. The Carver manual does not state which reservoir this takes. It looks as if the helm is an H-50. I can not determine if the reservoir was a R-06 or a RV50 or?
Anybody here with a 36 Mariner? Can you look at your reservoir and report the unit number?
FWIW - this is our 3rd Carver. We bought a 1988 Riviera in 1988.
Bought a 1989 42 Aft a number of years later, and sold the Riviera. The 42 was gas powered; not a joy to pilot in weather.
Sold the 42 and bought my offshore boat - 46 Cougar with triple 900hp 572's. It handles weather and waves just fine, thanks. Wife does not like it.
Thus, I keep my Cougar, she gets the 36 Mariner. Needs quite a bit of TLC, but the engines only have 280 hours on them, and look brand new inside with a borescope.
Anybody sell a replacement for the points and condenser system for these 350 Crusaders? I pulled the distributors and installed all new parts and primed the oil systems while I had them out, but I can't imagine changing the parts with that generous 8" of headroom!
Enough rambling!
Thanks for your help on the Hynautic reservoir and a points/condenser electronic solution.
