Does anyone know, in ballpark (or exact!!), figures, how much gas per hour a 7.3 KW Kohler brand generator will burn? Specifically, if the only load being placed on it is a TV/VCR/DVD player? On our maiden voyage (ha- just riding around the lake really!) today, we dropped anchor for a bit in a quiet cove for the kids nap time. Plan was to turn on a movie for the little kiddeos, let them zonk out, and mom and dad can relax topside. Well, i cranked up the gennie and had everything going but given the gas prices, etc. I decided to just go ahead and motor back to the slip to connect to shore power since i had no idea how much gas the gennie would really use for an hour long movie.
Anyone know? Major reason i need to know is that my plan backfired and by the time i got back to the slip they had decided they were no longer in the mood for a nap! I forgot how well a covered dock echos a 2 year old's screaching, particularly when said 2 year old is long overdue for her nap and fussy as could be!
