What a great boating day today was. Chatted with Dave & Ginny, my daughter playing with their dog at the dock... our friends showed up, we anchored up in Hemlock, rafted up...my son learned how to water ski (and now wants to sell his/my dinghy to buy a ski boat.....) followed by a quick dinner out on the hook, and about halfway through the ride home to Anchorage - I slipped, fell, and broke my big toe. OWWWWW! Damn that hurts. Try docking your boat with your son changing radio stations, not even able to put your foot on deck because of the waves of pain. Other than that - great day!!!

Ouch.........that hurts and there's not much they can do for that either. But glad the day was a good one until.........
 
Am I being blamed for breaking toes now too?
Sheesh! I get blamed for everything.

Hey, if your boat has engine problems, runs out of gas, runs aground, you lose your grill over the the side, your wife leaves you for yelling at her when docking......it's my fault! I take full blame!
 
Finally, at least I know who to blame for me running out of beer last weekend!
 
Not fun. I broke mine on the beach in front of lots of people right near the water with everyone looking... I had to fake that I wasn't in pain.

You call a doctor ? I think they just leave it alone until it heals

Ed, since no one asked and maybe a lesson to be learned by us readers, but how did you slip on your boat half way to your dock?

This Sunday on our raft-up at GC I slipped hopping across a swim platform; I caught the slippery wet gel coat instead of the decking, did a shin bang, and also saw stars. Grabbed another cold one……. no not for the leg…… I forgot about the pounding quick enough, until the next morning. Better today but have a few shades of black and blue as a reminder. Hope your toe recovers quickly, foot pain and boating stink…
 
Did see a doctor, but only because the purple part of the huge swelling started to clash with the pinkish red part.... xrays show a multiple fracture of the big toe. Slipped while hopping from one side of the cockpit to the other while returning home. Dave wasn't driving. In fact (and this is a joke, Dave... so don't go off the deep end here..) the world does not revolve around Dave, nor is he being blamed for this. I only mentioned that seeing Ginny and Gizmo (and Dave) started out wonderful day, until...

The Dr. said that they can't cast it, so it is now wrapped securely to two other toes and around the foot, which makes my choice of footwear in meetings fairly interesting: Black loafer on the left, blue "Croc" no sock on the right, with khakis and a button down shirt.

Learned my lesson.... "Stay away from Dave" if you don't want to end up getting hurt in someway [:-ouch].

I think I would go with the double Croc instead of a mixed business look. If you get any comments, just say you stayed at a Holiday Inn last night and watched Mario on the Cooking Channel and was very inspired with his style. [:-chef]
 
After numerous broken toes, I can attest to the pain Ed is in. Not fun!

In fact, right now I am nursing a stress fracture in my foot...

I'll bet...we discussed you and those ballet lessons, but you went right ahead and tried the toe stand anyway...;)
 
LOL! Let's just say there was a mountain involved. No ballerina slippers.
 
Radiowaves - believe it or not, I was actually trying to figure out which would be worse - a shoe and a sandal, or the matching crocs. I think you may have a point!
