Recently purchased an older inflatable made of hypalon. What can I use to remove old adhesive without damaging the fabric? Also what can be used to clean hypalon?

Thanks in Advance.

When in doubt; contact manufacturer & ask Customer Service.......that's their job.

I just got thru gluing the rub rail and Weaver davit hooks on my hypalon dinghy from Avon. I tried all the kinder ways to get the old glue off, but in the end, the best way was a Dremel sanding stone (the cone-shaped worked best for me) on my air-powered dye grinder and a wire brush in my drill. Yes, it sounds harsh, but it really was the only way to get it all off. Just be careful not to go too deep. You'll see the threads start to fray when you've gone too deep.

yeah, I remember trying that one time with a power tool- I would never endorse it. I ended up with a very large hole. If you do not have to put anything back over what your trying to clean , just do the best ya can then add some non skid pads over it. They look good and provide a function. These guys will send you a sample pack, I just talked to them today to get one myself for some tender work I am doing.
