I found a 4"x4" wet spot on my cabin floor (89 Larson San Marino). Floor appears solid and is carpeted. Hull looks fine and applied barrier coat 3 years ago. Wet spot is at foot of stairs and centered on the floor. Everything around it is dry though. I'm thinking of cutting into it to see what's going on and hope to install a deck plate when done. Anyone come across this before? Where can I get prints of the floor to ensure I don't cut into the stringers?
 
I'm thinking you may have something above leaking like the horn wires, windshield mount screws, or even the door around the frame...I'd investigate that before I start cutting the boat apart
 
It sounds like something above is leaking and the water drops are falling on the floor. Get a hose and have someone spray water on the boat and they watch to see if water droplets form above where it is wet on the floor.
 
Thanks. Don't know why I didn't think of that? I'll check it out. Guess I was getting freaked out cause it was happening on sunny days.
 
What might accumulate and then drip while underway or when you move around
 
Sometimes it's wet when I come down on the weekend, so it's intermittent. Next Spring, I'll tape some ceran wrap under the hatch slider to see if there's any accumulation. That's the most likely culprit. Since my ceiling is covered, I'd expect to see discoloration from any drips. Thank's for the reply's.
