ancorage spots on the hudson river ?

Yo Jonathan, I sent you a PM about the led lights. Which model did you get 2010 or 3010? I remember seeing the photo you posted but search is not cooperating...

Didn't get the PM Dan.

Strange.

I have the 2010's.

I will PM you with a new development in cheap LED lights.

Jonathan

Are the city docks at Kingston free , say for going ashore for dinner ? I 've only pulled in there once and no one was in the booth at the top of the ramp ( where I thought you might pay ), walked across the street , ate, left .

Anyone know what the deal is with them ?
Thanks, Jon.

I think there is a fee for just dinner parking. I know there is definitely a fee for overnight dockage. They dont charge for the dinks though.

I kinda figured there would be a fee & would'nt mind to pay it, just could not find someone to pay. I would have asked other boaters but, took off to get a bit farther downstream before i had to slow down for nightfall.Just have to wait for a reply I guess, sure will get a reply .

thanks,Jon

Sometimes they charge but usually they don't, especially if you are going into town for dinner. If you were staying overnight, that would be a different story...

I stayed over night and they charged me $1.00 a foot and rounded the $32. down to $30.

You don't see that to often in the marine services.

There you are Pete, they were lookin for ya. Sound reasonable ( cheap ) to me , thats good Roundout is always fun , hpoe it always stays boat friendly and prospers.

BTW where the heck do you pay ? at that hut on top of the ramp ?
Or is that obvious ? ( Never said i was the sharpest pencil in the box )

But i've been getting free tutioring from Robyns nest, if I keep it up , and get good grades,

hopefully I may get smart enough to earn enough $ to afford a kick-ass boat like his some day !, instead of my garbbage scow.

Thanks for the laughs guys, Jon

Usually there is someone in the booth.. I have not been there in 5 or so years but we did not pay to eat.

Hogan,
I will take your advise. I am not going back to Bowline. After seeing a picture of my dink on the that wall, I said this is it, never again. It took me all weekend to get out. My wife hated me my kids hated me. We had no food or water. I kept waiting for the tide to come in, but it just would not come in. Then by the good grace of God the tide rose on Sunday and I was able to get my dink off the wall. Miracles do happen. [:-banghead]

Come on up to the Rondout anytime! We've got plenty of water for you, and if you do run aground its all mud and sand...

Bob, I recall you calling Sea Tow and they told you it was too dangerous for them to come anywhere near Bowline - and that you were on your own.

We were all too nervous to leave our boats, afraid if we attempted to help it would only make matters worse. In fact, if memory serves me correctly, we made Tracie whip up another batch of rum gumbies just to calm our nerves watching you all in peril!

It was a harrowing sight, one I won't soon remember.

If I make a list bowline is deffinately off it , Agreed TO DANGEROUS , not worth the risk ,my days are done there
Should have used my haed and not posted it , sorry for the misinformation ,don't take the risk.
jon

About time the new guy got with the program!!!!

Jon, when you don't go in there look for me, because I won't be in there either, and I'm sure rommer won't be there.

I'd write back but I am laughing too hard ....Is this some kind of initiation ............?

I just talked my buddy at the Rockland County Sherrif's Dept. and it turns out that one of the guys from the Marine Division has been following this thread. After discussing it with the dept. they have decided to shut down Bowline to all recreational boats and PWC's so it looks like it's North or South Croton for most of us...

Could be worse...

Nah, the real initiation is the fact you have to supply all the beer this year. Not too bad and we all did our turn as well. Look at it this way, next year the new guy will be buying you beer!
